Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager, Community Health Improvement plays a key role in advancing Mass General Brigham’s Community Health Strategy by overseeing a team of 16 Community Health Workers/Resource Navigators embedded in priority communities. This role focuses on implementing place-based strategies tied to the identified health conditions.Reporting to the Director of Community Health Programs, and aligned with Primary Care leadership, the Senior Program Manager ensures consistent practices across sites, supports staff development, and builds partnerships with clinical and community stakeholders. The role helps align frontline work with MGB’s Community Health Improvement Plan and systemwide efforts to improve health outcomes.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesQualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study or equivalent years of experience required and Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or related field of study strongly preferred.
Experience
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in public health, community health, community engagement, not-for-profit, or health and human services.
- At least 5 years of experience managing community-based programs and personnel required.
- Experience conducting health promotion activities including screenings, navigation, education, and relationship building required.
- Experience with program budgeting and financial management preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience cultivating, managing, and maintaining complex community relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in close partnership with evaluation, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership to identify goals and create pathways to achieve the goals.
- Experience utilizing data as a tool to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to tailor messaging to meet the needs of the audience.
- Experience planning and hosting community events, listening sessions, trainings, and other community-based convenings.
- Ability to act strategically and with flexibility to operationalize multiple competing tasks, priorities, and deadlines, asking for help and delegating as needed.
- Ability to recruit, train, and mentor staff with a particular emphasis on employee development.
- Effective financial and analytical skills, including ability to develop and monitor budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Experience with Survey Monkey Apply preferable
- Knowledge of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) processes preferred.
