How Your Role Will Shape Our Success
As a Senior Restoration Consultant at Walker Consultants, you will play a pivotal role in solving complex challenges for existing structures. You'll lead condition assessments, technical investigations, and restoration projects across a wide variety of facades, roofs, and structural systems. This role will allow you to apply your expertise in hands-on fieldwork, structural analysis, and design while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, architects, and material specialists. Your contributions will directly impact the safety, performance, and longevity of buildings, while providing opportunities to mentor colleagues, influence project strategies, and shape the technical excellence and growth of our team.

What You'll Do
- Lead complex condition assessments, forensic investigations, field testing, and construction observations to diagnose façade, roofing, waterproofing, and structural issues.
- Conduct on-site assessments, documenting existing conditions, taking measurements, and interpreting findings firsthand
- Perform and review structural analysis and engineering calculations (hand and software-based) for repair, stabilization, or strengthening design.
- Prepare, review, and sign off on technical reports that summarize investigation procedures, engineering evaluations, and recommendations.
- Lead the preparation of repair design documents, including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project details.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal teammates on project approach, design solutions, budgets, and schedules.
- Play an active role in client communication, proposal development, and business development.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance for junior engineers.
- Conduct construction administration services, including submittal reviews and responses to RFIs.
What You'll Bring
- 15+ years of experience in building envelope evaluations, façade and roofing investigations, structural or building science assessments, or repair/retrofit design.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA, AIA) strongly preferred; ability to mentor junior staff on licensure path.
- Proven experience leading technical investigations, developing repair designs, and managing client relationships.
- Strong technical communication skills, including report writing, client presentations, and peer review.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with structural analysis or modeling software.
- Ability and willingness to perform field work, including accessing roofs, climbing ladders, scaffolding, and swing stages. Some travel may be required.
