JOBSUMMARY:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer to join our growing technology team at American Financing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing software solutions that help in the automation of company workflow and development of multiple internal and customer facing solutions. This candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing systems while also playing a big part in developing new solutions designed to drive our business. We are looking for ideation, design and execution; this team member will participate in all aspects of our development life cycle. The ideal candidate will be able to be given a task, adopt the standards and conventions they see within the codebases they work, while formulating ideas for improvement and ultimately collaborating with the Head of Software Engineering to discuss and implement improvements.
What You Will Bring:
- 10+ years of overall software development experience
- Strong understanding and adherence to contemporary software design principles and patterns
- Experience working with .NET and C#, including .NET core, dependency injection frameworks, web service technologies
- Experience working with SQL Server and ORM frameworks. Mongo experience a plus
- Experience with JIRA and agile methodologies
- Effective time management and ability to float between multiple projects
- Ability to work with minimal supervision but with a strict adherence to coding standards, while offering suggestions for improvements
- Good working knowledge of security best practices, including familiarity with authentication frameworks such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML
- Experience with NETMVC, WebApi, Windows Services
- Experience with implementing DevOps is a plus (JIRA, Azure, Bitbucket)
- Experience working with NServiceBus or other enterprise service bus technologies is highly desirable
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable
- Experience working within the Mortgage industry is highly desirable
- Experience working with .NET and C#, including .NET core, dependency injection frameworks, web services technologies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and document high-quality software systems
- Mentor other developers in proper code patterns and practices
- Willingness and capability to take on project lead responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Automate internal development and testing tasks to drive higher efficiency
- Review and debug code
- Championing and contributing to development best practices, while working with the Head of Software Engineering but also capability to balance reasonable deliverability and deadline goals
- Create unit and integration tests, and ensure code quality standards are met
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure standards are met for architectural consistency, cloud support, security, observability
- Create and manage technical documentation
