Job Description

About Halliday

Halliday is a blockchain company and product lab working to create a unified, cross-chain payments ecosystem. Its flagship product, Halliday Payments, is a unified payments platform that makes it easy for users to onramp, swap, and take other onchain actions. Halliday’s products are built on the Workflow Protocol, which removes the need to code smart contracts by hand and enables breakthrough applications to ship in hours, not years.

Backed by a16z and #Hashed, Halliday has worked with prominent developers such as ApeChain, Story Protocol and DeFi Kingdoms to provide seamless experiences for both developers and users. The team includes alumni from Stanford, Harvard, Compound, Solana Foundation, Meta, Netflix, and more.

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Halliday, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and building the core infrastructure driving the future of commerce. This is an opportunity to work on cutting edge technology that makes blockchain accessible, seamless, and secure, while collaborating with a talented and passionate team.

What you'll be doing

  • Architect and build secure distributed systems that integrate blockchains, cryptography, decentralized finance, zero knowledge proofs, and many other bleeding edge technologies.

  • Develop scalable services, APIs, and robust testing frameworks to support our platform.

  • Utilize open-source blockchain SDKs to interact with various networks, protocols, and smart contracts.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of Halliday’s public SDKs, making it easy for developers to integrate with our services.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product, engineering, and business to build impactful solutions that advance the web3 ecosystem.

  • Innovate and expand on our foundational cross-chain protocol.

  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance our platform's performance, security, and scalability.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong expertise as a full-stack engineer, with experience in frontend, backend, and/or protocol development.

  • Extensive experience as a software engineer, demonstrated through impactful projects such as developing scalable applications, building robust APIs, or contributing to widely-used libraries and frameworks.

  • A quick learner with a passion for exploring new technologies and creating innovative solutions.

  • A collaborative mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.

Nice to haves

  • Experience working with blockchain technologies, including EVM-based chains, Bitcoin, and/or Solana.

  • Solid understanding of blockchain concepts, including smart contracts, cryptography, and decentralized applications.

  • Familiarity with modern web services, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and deployment pipelines.

Why Work at Halliday?

  • A role with significant autonomy to build out the next generation infrastructure of the blockchain space.

  • Competitive compensation package, with unlimited PTO and a friendly work environment.

  • For international candidates - we offer visa sponsorship!
