Job Description
Advanced Cleans & Slurry Technologies (ACST), Qnity is a leading chemical supplier to the Semiconductor industry. We are looking for a talented Sr. technologist to join our analytical and application team in Newark, DE.
The Technologist will provide analytical technical expertise to support multidisciplinary teams and technical solutions for ACST. This role involves close collaboration with scientists, engineers, and technologists in a team-based environment to drive projects to successful completion.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a passion for working in a high-performing team. Comfort with analytical equipment and proficiency in software platforms are essential.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Work safely in an R&D environment, actively participating in company safety programs. Generating and maintaining documentation for the safe and productive operation of equipment and tools.
- Preform materials analysis and characterization focusing on formulation samples and wafers. Support product development, functional testing, troubleshooting, and quality investigations by executing experiments under the direction of scientists.
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and analytical instruments, including physical testers, particle sizers, microscopes, surface analyzers, elemental analyzers, and others. Well document SOPs, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance records.
- Generate, analyze and summarize data. Maintain electronic databases and document basic data interpretation timely in laboratory notebooks and analytical reports.
- Demonstrate capability of conducting independent experiments, including advance planning skills.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and organizational skills, especially with taking data and record-keeping.
- Collaborate professionally with cross-functional teams including Business R&D, Application, Manufacturing, and QC teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a BA or BS in chemistry and/or related engineering/science
- Previous experience working in a lab environment.
- Commitment to the highest standards of workplace safety and a solid understanding of analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Motivated to expand analytical knowledge while prioritizing safety.
- Experience with analytical techniques such as wet chemistry, microscopy, spectroscopy, particle/colloidal analysis, and surface characterization.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn various software platforms (e.g., databases, SharePoint, statistical analysis tools).
