At Bose, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth. We've dedicated ourselves to improving it for more than 60 years. And we're passionate down to our bones about making whatever you're listening to a little more magical.

The Engineering team at Bose is a thriving, passionate, deeply skilled team of professionals from a broad range of disciplines and experiences, who share a common goal-to create products that provide transformative sound experiences.

Job Description

At Bose, R&D is the beating heart of what we do, and when we're at our best, we deliver products that use audio to deliver real benefits - benefits so fresh and unexpected people didn't even realize they needed them, but once experienced say they can't live without! We've spent decades working hard studying, advancing, and obsessing over the many technical fields that go into audio products: acoustics, psychoacoustics, electronics, transducers, and more. Transducers are the back bone of our products. We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Transducer Engineer to join our transducer development team.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer new audio transducers (moving coil, microspeakers) from feasibility to mass production.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, with emphasis on supporting Automotive Theater and OEM customers.

  • Define transducer specifications and recommend solutions for future products.

  • Analyze acoustic data (MATLAB), perform failure/competitive analysis, and oversee measurement consistency across labs.

  • Develop/improve tools, fixtures, and measurement capabilities.

  • Communicate technical findings to suppliers, OEMs, and internal teams.

  • Act as SME for acoustic measurement best practices and validation.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Acoustics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.

  • 6+ years' product development experience, ideally in Automotive (OEM) Audio.

  • Strong knowledge of acoustics, structural dynamics, electromagnetics, and luxury audio.

  • Skilled in MATLAB, acoustic measurement systems (Audio Precision, Klippel), circuit simulation (PSPICE/LTSPICE, Simulink), and FEA.

  • Comfortable with hands-on lab work and familiar with loudspeaker standards, OEM validation, and external labs.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with loudspeaker driver measurements (linear & nonlinear).

  • 3D CAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks).

  • Critical listening ability.

  • Established relationships with loudspeaker manufacturers/labs.
