Position OverviewServers ensure the best possible dining experience for guests. All Servers will exemplify ourcore values, connecting with guests in a professional manner to ensure excellence inservice.Servers will report to the FOH Department Head and when necessary, other DepartmentHeads and the General Manager and are expected to work in tandem with other Hosts andFOH Staff.Core Duties & Responsibilities:● Cultivate a comprehensive knowledge of the food and beverage items and theirpreparation in all active spaces within the building● Provide a strong sense of knowledge and hospitality to our guests and yourteammates● Show up for your shift on time and ready to work, dressed appropriately and with anytools pertaining to your position● Work toward a thorough knowledge of the Death & Co compendium and how tonavigate EverNote● Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our POS’ operation● Be capable of covering any server or support position when needed● Cultivate a comprehensive knowledge of our service standards and style as detailedby the Employee Manual● Comply with sanitation standards and procedures according to health and legalregulations● Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring and evaluating food, beverage and serviceofferings; build relationships with regular guests; and maintain good relations withour neighborhood and industry community members● Use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges and respond topatron needs with patience and courtesy● Ability to recognize an intoxicated patron and seek out management with anyconcerns about a patron that appears intoxicated● Report all guest complaints to management immediately and follow our five steps fornavigating guest complaints. Every negative comment/experience will be addressedby a manager so that no customer leaves unhappy● Be up to date on Slack, with particular attention to the Announcement Board and theHost, Pre-Shift, and Product Updates channels, before you arrive for your shift● Maintain a reasonable response time for all Slack communication: a minimum of ananswer to any correspondence before your next shift● Arrive to work every day with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and preparedfor the shift● Ask for help when you need it; asking for help is a sign of strength, not a sign ofweaknessAdditional Duties & Responsibilities:● Check in with your teammates and the MOD upon arrival and before leaving to see ifyou can do anything for them● Monitor restaurant and kitchen flow regarding timeliness during service and assistwhen and where necessary● Complete weekly cleaning duties, in addition to opening and closing duties● Help to promote a safe and clean environment for co-workers, and guests; maintainthe ABK mantra● Handle gift certificate transactions, fill out all pertinent documentation, and present tothe guest● Focus on always continuing your education and into all facets of our operations, be itthe Bar, Kitchen, Service, Coffee, and Tea programs● Assist in training new hires by guiding them through training trails, answering theirquestions, providing workflow advice, and teaching them G&L's expectations, stepsof service steps, and standards operating procedures.● Build relationships with regular guests; and maintain good relations with ourneighborhood and industry community members● Act in a professional manner and represent Death & Co / Gin & Luck graciouslywhether you are in house, traveling, or at another local establishment● Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including thoseoutlined in the Employee HandbookPhysical Demands:● The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching,frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting,standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonableaccommodationsRequired Qualifications:● Previous experience in a bar/restaurant or hospitality setting● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure● Strong multitasking and time management abilities● Attention to detail, ensuring accurate order-taking and payment processing● Outstanding communication skills with the ability to interact effectively withcustomers and team members● Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, andholidays; and time for All Staff meetings and tastings● Patience and adaptability● Self-motivated and a team player● High ethics, hard worker, and a great sense of humorDesired Qualifications:● Have 2-3 years of Server experience in a high-volume establishment● Have sufficient skills, knowledge and personality to provide a memorable experiencefor our patronsDemonstrate the Core Values of Gin & Luck● Curiosity: We learn and improve through active observation and creative problemsolving.● A.B.K.: We anticipate, prepare and execute with intention.● Pursuit of Excellence: We will forever be chasing excellence, even when wesometimes fail.
