Job Description

Do you love making people feel welcome, valued, and well-fed? Do you have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and working in a fast-paced, team-first environment? If so, we want you on our team at The Capital Plaza Hotel, a hospitality landmark in the heart of downtown Frankfort!

We’re looking for a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic Server to join our food and beverage team. In this role, you’ll be the face of our dining experience—from greeting guests to recommending wine pairings to making sure every detail is just right. You'll be part of a team that brings warmth, polish, and a touch of fun to every shift.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Welcome guests like old friends and help them feel right at home
  • Present menus, share daily specials, and describe dishes with confidence and flair
  • Take food and drink orders accurately, efficiently, and with a smile
  • Serve wine and beverages with professionalism and knowledge of state liquor laws
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely, accurate, and beautifully presented meals
  • Clear and reset tables, answer phones, handle payments, and keep your station looking great
  • Jump in to support your teammates and help keep service running smoothly
  • Handle any guest concerns with patience, professionalism, and a solutions-first mindset

What We're Looking For: 

  • Experience in a restaurant or food & beverage setting preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A calm, cool, and collected attitude—even when the dining room is buzzing
  • Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with liquor laws and safe serving practices
  • A polished, professional appearance and warm, friendly demeanor
  • Bilingual is a plus—but not required
  • Team players only—leave the ego at the door
