Description

Position Title: Service Order Manager (SOM)

Area of Requirement: Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG) MTF and Surrounding Facilities

Scope of Position:

The Service Order Manager is responsible for managing all service order activities under the PWS, including repair and capital improvement projects, development of scopes of work, cost estimating, and ensuring all service order work meets contractual, quality, and safety standards. The SOM works closely with the CMM, QCM, and Government representatives to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation of service orders.

Tasks and Capabilities Required:

Manage the service order program for all assigned facilities in accordance with the PWS.

Develop scopes of work (SOW) and technical descriptions for repairs, upgrades, and construction.

Review service requests for scope accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with applicable codes.

Prepare cost estimates and obtain vendor/subcontractor proposals.

Oversee service order execution, conduct progress inspections, and ensure timely close-out.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and applicable codes.

Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruption to facility operations during service order execution.

Maintain complete service order records, including schedules, inspection reports, and acceptance documentation.

Mandatory Experience and Certifications:

Minimum 3 years' experience in facilities management, construction management, or service order administration.

Experience in medical or laboratory construction, renovation, and maintenance.

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.

Preferred/Desired Certifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP).

Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certification.

Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC).
