Job Description

We are Energy Systems, the leader in industrial power solution sales, service, and rentals.

With an ongoing tradition of providing excellent products and outstanding service for our customers, Energy Systems is one of the longest existing Generac Industrial Distributors in the United States. We are a full-service distributor of Generac equipment and solutions providing sales, service and rentals.

Primary Purpose 

The Service Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting, selling, and renewing HVAC service contracts, and repair solutions. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying client needs, and providing tailored HVAC service solutions that generally promotes Energy Systems as the primary source for aftermarket parts and service of HVAC equipment. 

 

Major Responsibilities  

 

Identify and pursue new sales opportunities for HVAC service agreements and equipment upgrades. 

Selling new HVAC unit installations 

Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients through networking, referrals, and cold outreach. 

Conduct site visits to assess equipment conditions and present service recommendations. 

Prepare and deliver professional proposals and presentations to decision-makers. 

Build and maintain long term relationships with customers to drive repeat business and referrals. 

Provide timely follow up on proposals, contracts, and inquiries. 

Ensure smooth transition from sales to service delivery teams. 

Stay informed on HVAC products, services, and industry trends to effectively present solutions. 

Collaborate with technicians and engineers to create accurate service scopes and cost estimates. 

Understand competitor offerings and differentiate the company’s value proposition. 

Meet or exceed sales quotas for service agreements and revenue targets. 

Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in CRM system. 

Prepare regular sales reporting for management.

Minimum Job Requirements 

Education 

Four-year college degree or equivalent HVAC sales experience is . 

Certification / License 

N/A 

Work Experience 

1 year cold call via phone and in person  

1 year customer facing sales role that includes negotiation, presentation, and conflict resolution 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities 

Well-developed sales and presentation skills  

Computer literacy is , including a working knowledge of applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel  

Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment  

Basic mechanical and technical aptitude including geometric and other mathematical formulas  

Excellent oral and written communication skills  

Proven interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers  

Basic marketing knowledge  

Must be able to handle high pressure situations and adapt well to changes in the market 

 

Preferred Job Requirements 

Education 

5+ years college degree or equivalent HVAC sales experience is required.   

 

Certification / License 

N/A 

Work Experience 

Preferred experience selling preventative maintenance contracts in the HVAC industry  

Knowledge of energy efficiency programs, rebates, and incentive offerings 

Established customer network within the local commercial and industrial market 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
