Shipping Clerk

Position: Shipping Clerk

Job Summary 

To assure all shipments are properly labeled before being loaded on the truck for delivery; all bills of lading are typed; LTL shipments are prepared for pick up; any other duties as assigned.

Pay: $19.50 USD/hr

Responsibilities 

• Organize BOL’s and packing slips from previous day to send to accounting for invoicing. 
• Create labels for production. 
• Assign carriers to pick-up LTL 
• Get freight quotes for sales office 
• Handle customer pick-ups 
• Answer phone 
• Create all shipping documents for current day trucks 
• Receive in supplies and customer returns 
• Reprint revised shipping documents throughout the day to keep most current one. 
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

• Ability to perform related computer tasks 
• Excellent math and reading skills 
• Ability to work productively with minimum supervision 
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Ability to multi-task 

Physical Demands 

• Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity. 
• Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift. 
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. 

Schedule

•  Monday through Friday
• 7:00am to 3:30pm
• Flexibility is a must – hours subject to change based on production schedule
