Social Media Assistant

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

• Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

• Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

• Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

• Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

• A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

• Federal Work Study student may apply.

• In good disciplinary standing.

• Must be located in the U.S.

Berklee’s official social media channels—Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn—are managed by the Office of Communications and Marketing. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organized student assistant to support our social media efforts. In this role, you will help manage our content calendar, create and schedule posts, engage with our online community, and collaborate with a team of student content creators to produce authentic, student-focused content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and update the social media content calendar and Asana tasks

• Engage with the Berklee online community by responding to comments and DMs, reposting, and sharing content in Berklee’s voice

• Brainstorm creative ideas with the student content team

• Assist with filming, recording, and editing video and photo content

• Support day-to-day social media needs as directed by the Associate Director of Social Media

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Highly organized and able to meet deadlines

• Comfortable using Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive (training in Asana provided)

• Owns a smartphone and familiar with using cameras and microphones

• Skilled in recording and editing video within social media apps

• Up to date on current social media trends and best practices

• Comfortable engaging with students, faculty, and staff to capture authentic moments

• Professional, collaborative, and aligned with Berklee’s core values
