Job Description
The Social Media Specialist must be both creatively driven and operationally focused—comfortable crafting engaging social content, responding in real-time to community interactions, and monitoring brand sentiment across review platforms. They will also work closely with internal teams to source content, support campaigns, and ensure consistent brand voice across all channels.This role reports to the Senior Manager, Content Creation. This is a fully remote position, but occasional travel may be required for on-site visits, events, or team collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently, manage their own deadlines, and take initiative without daily oversight.
Primary Responsibilities
Social Media Content Creation & Management
- Plan, write, and publish daily social media content across multiple Cove brand channels
- Source photos, videos, and stories from internal teams, residents, and guests
- Coordinate with the content lead to align social media with seasonal campaigns, announcements, promotions, and blogs
- Use scheduling tools to manage posting calendars and ensure optimal delivery
Community Engagement & Response Management
- Act as the front-line voice of the brand by responding to comments, messages, and mentions
- Manage direct messages with an approachable, brand-aligned tone
- Escalate inquiries or complaints to appropriate departments and track resolution
- Build strong relationships with followers, potential guests, and residents to increase loyalty and satisfaction
- Create and maintain templates and guidelines for brand-consistent replies
Review & Reputation Management
- Monitor and respond to reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and TrustPilot
- Flag concerning reviews and collaborate with property teams or the Contact Center for resolution
- Participate in building and maintaining a library of response templates and best practices
- Support SEO-driven tactics to highlight positive stories and community experiences
Additional Responsibilities
- Support blog writing initiatives to highlight community stories, seasonal tips, and guest features
- Help upload and edit content on Wordpress-based website as needed
- Collaborate with the Creative Director on basic graphics for social (Canva or Adobe experience a plus)
- Assist in managing asset libraries and organizing social content for cross-departmental access
- Support ad hoc projects or campaign execution across marketing and communications
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in a social media, marketing, or communications role
- Proven track record of managing brand accounts and engaging with online communities
- Customer service experience
- Strong writing skills and an eye for tone, humor, and storytelling
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite)
- Experience with online review platforms and reputation management preferred
- Basic understanding of SEO and its relationship to content and engagement
- Wordpress or CMS experience is a plus
- Canva or graphic design experience is a plus
- Naturally outgoing, collaborative, and customer-first in attitude
- Comfortable working across departments and with remote teams
- Knowledge of or interest in the real estate, RV resort, or travel industry a plus
