Job Description

About PPLM
Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts has been a leader in sexual and reproductive health for over 90 years. We provide expert care, education, and advocacy to empower individuals and communities.
About the ASPIRE Center
ASPIRE advances equity in sexual and reproductive health through research, education, and policy. We work to dismantle systemic barriers affecting BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, young people, and people with disabilities.
About the Role
PPLM’s Social Science Research Program is seeking two interns to support participant recruitment and data collection for two research studies: EnPIRHE and ISTAR. These studies are expanding to our Worcester Health Center, with ongoing work at our Boston location.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in public health research, contribute to meaningful projects, and engage in professional development activities such as journal clubs and methodological trainings.
This internship will require 10-20 hours per week and is expected to run through May 2026 (with flexibility).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and enroll participants at Boston and Worcester clinics
  • Support participants in completing surveys using RedCap
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow study protocols
  • Conduct informed consent procedures
  • Attend team meetings and trainings
  • Participate in optional qualitative data collection
  • Travel between Boston and Worcester may be required

Qualifications:

Who Should Apply
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences. You might be a current undergraduate or graduate student studying public health, sociology, social work, gender studies, statistics, or a related field. If you’re passionate about reproductive justice and ethical research, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t meet every qualification:
  • Interest in sexual and reproductive health research and ethics
  • Ability to travel to both Worcester and Boston clinics
  • Strong documentation and protocol-following skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to respectful engagement with diverse communities
  • Alignment with PPLM’s mission and values
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior research or clinical experience (not required)
  • Familiarity with RedCap
PPLM is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We strongly encourage applications from people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and those with nontraditional educational or career paths.
