Immigration Sponsorship is not available in this role.As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will play a key role in shaping the future of digital retail by engineering scalable, resilient, and customer-centric solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead small groups of engineers, and apply your technical expertise to solve complex challenges across the digital journey. Your work will directly impact millions of customers and contribute to Walmart’s mission of delivering seamless, omni-channel experiences. What You'll Do:- Lead and guide small teams of engineers, including offshore associates, by providing documentation, direction, and technical mentorship.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with a focus on ROI and long-term sustainability.
- Write, test, and deploy high-quality code across various platforms and technologies.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with product, project management, UX, and business teams during the discovery and design phases.
- Support business operations by addressing user concerns, researching solutions, and advising on system enhancements.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations to ensure operational support and system reliability.
- Apply up-to-date software engineering practices to improve development processes and outcomes.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to support the implementation of business solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Walmart’s policies, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Strong experience in Mainframe technologies and enterprise-level engineering.
- Proficiency in system architecture and design, especially in cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
- Deep understanding of Omni Fulfillment and how fulfillment systems operate.
- Familiarity with Front-End, Mobile, and legacy technologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
- Knowledge of scalable, distributed systems and fault-tolerant design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Solr, Elastic Search, SQL.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Bash, Spark, and tools like Maven, Git, Jenkins.
- Strong DevOps skills for troubleshooting, performance tuning, and Linux-based application support.
- Passion for mentoring and empowering others while continuously learning and adapting.
