Job Description

Tenaska is hiring a year-round Software Engineering Intern who has a passion for the latest technologies like C#, .NET, JavaScript and Angular. This opportunity has the potential to become a Software Developer on a full-time basis.

Schedule: Minimum 20 hours/week during the school year; up to 40 hours/week in the summer.

Location: On-site in Omaha, Nebraska.

Essential Job Functions:• Learn from and work directly alongside experienced developers and analysts to maintain and enhance mission-critical systems• Enhance your skills in an Agile and Kanban development environment• Integrate your best ideas into developing rich, interactive software solutions for both Web and Desktop• Demonstrate your attention to detail by providing quality control during the software development lifecycle• Other duties as assigned• Reliable, dependable and predictable attendance is a requirement

Education/Experience/Skills

Basic Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an accredited university seeking a BS or MS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent

Preferred Requirements:

  • Understands OOP principles and application/database operations
  • Good knowledge of programming concepts (conditions, looping, etc.)
  • Some experience in developing Web and Windows-based desktop applications in multiple environments is preferred
  • Strict adherence to best practices/standards
  • Good documentation habits
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
