Job Description

Summary

Information Technology Internships are specifically designed for students who are in the Information Technology field of study or Buckle employees with an IT background with a desire to explore career options. Internships are a paid, 3-4 month part-time position. Information Technology Interns will be placed within a team and will contribute to that team's planned work. Interns may be considered for roles in software development, infrastructure automation, network engineering and quality assurance among others. Interns are expected to learn new methodologies, technologies and skills and follow best practice guidelines in an enterprise environment while gaining experience in their field of study.

  • Contribute to the daily work within an agile team focused on development, network engineering or infrastructure automation.
  • Assist the assigned team in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications and networks
  • Write new code and develop systems using best practices.
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and meet security standards.
  • Assist in preparing and producing releases of software components and/or process and system updates.
  • Be proactive in learning and understanding best practices and design patterns.
  • Use applicable industry-specific tools such as code repositories and integrated development environments (IDEs) to enhance productivity.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and fixing reported issues
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Currently Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in Computer Science.

To perform this job successfully, an individual will to have had exposure to several of the following - programming languages, basic coding practices, key web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, operating systems, open source technologies, networking communications and protocols, knowledge of Cisco systems, Linux, browser and mobile device testing, agile development processes.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
