We aim to build delightful and potent creation tools for AI. We are a small team based in New York. Everyone on the team is IC-minded, intellectually curious, self-motivated, and loves software. We care deeply about our user community and we strive to build canonical software that users and developers love.
Our products include the LM Studio desktop app, our developer SDKs: lmstudio-js and lmstudio-python, our CLI lms, MLX engine mlx-engine for M-chip Macs, venvstacks which enables us to ship Python-based software, the collaboration Hub for individuals and teams, and more currently being built.
The Role
You will work on all aspects of the LM Studio application, APIs, SDKs, tooling, AI runtime, and future projects. You are a software generalist with experience across and down the stack. You architect and implement systems and features yourself and in collaboration with others. You have strong familiarity with operating system topics such as processes, file systems, system calls. You are an excellent collaborator and dependable contributor. You are a force multipler on the team and you improve the software around you. You have a keen interest in building local AI software for users and developers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science
- 3+ years shipping production software in C++, Python, or TypeScript
- Excellent system design skills and a sense of good architecture
- Multiplier mindset: you raise the bar, mentor others, and motivate the team.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity; Bias to ship fast with high quality
- Located in New York City or willing to relocate.
