Position Overview:

Gestalt Community Schools is excited to announce openings for the position of Advanced Teacher Assistant- Teaching Emphasis for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. This role is ideal for educators who are nearing completion of their degree in education and have a strong passion for teaching and inspiring young minds. As an Advanced teaching assistant at GCS, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of our scholars, with a primary focus on teaching and enriching the learning experiences of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and effective instructional content that aligns with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a safe and positive learning environment by implementing classroom management strategies that support scholars' academic and social development.
  • Student Support: Provide individual and group support to address the diverse academic needs of students, adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback, helping scholars set and achieve their learning goals.
  • Differentiation: Tailor instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to coordinate lessons, share best practices, and contribute to a cohesive educational team.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in school and community events that integrate education and community involvement, emphasizing the importance of our "gestalt" approach.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma; 48 college credit hours or ParaPro certification preferred
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and a commitment to improving student outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A growth mindset and a willingness to embrace and adapt to GCS's educational philosophy and community-based approach.
