Job Description

Tampa General Hospital is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in West Central Florida.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Services are provided at multiple off campus locations and include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology services for patients across the life span (Pediatric and Adult). Patients may have a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injuries, trauma, burns, chronic pain, birth injuries and other cardiac and neurology-related conditions. The goal of rehabilitation services is to increase the functional independence of our patients and improve their quality of life through state of the art, evidence-based practices.

SLP will be part of an Interdisciplinary team of PT, OT and SLP's providing world class evidence-based care to patients.

SLP will have a caseload of Pediatric patients ranging from newborns to 16 years of age

Education: Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology

Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Licensure/Registration: Licensure by the State of Florida as a Speech Language Pathologist

Minimum 1 year experience required in Pediatrics including Infant feeding

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of normal growth and development across the Pediatric continuum: infants, toddlers, school age and adolescents through age 18

Demonstrate knowledge in the diagnosis and remediation of oropharyngeal dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders in pediatric patients.

Must possess effective communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with patients, colleagues, and other health care personnel.

In collaboration with patient and /or family member develops individualized treatment plans for each patient

Collaborate within discipline and team members of other disciplines to optimize patient care

Manges patient caseload and Documentation to department guidelines

Stays current with evidence-based practice through professional development activities as appropriate to caseload

Active participation in team meetings

Performs all other duties as assigned

Travel may be required to meet operational needs at various locations.
