Job Description
The Sr. HR Specialist will be responsible for significantly serving CFP employees and supporting the Senior Human Resource Manager by playing a key role in executing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization's goals. This position serves as a subject matter expert in various HR functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and HR analytics. The Senior HR Specialist partners with leadership and employees to foster a positive and productive work environment.

- Serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead and support employee relations investigations, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct full-cycle recruitment efforts for key roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Gather/consolidate HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and improve HR processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programs (e.g., wellness, engagement).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data.
- Payroll administration.
- Foster a culture continuous improvement and professional development within the HR team.
- Engage with employees regularly in the mill environment.
- Other duties and projects are assigned to meet CFP's Mission and Purpose.
Qualification and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of HR or related experience with at least 2 years in a senior or specialist role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office suite.
- Work effectively in a team.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
