Position: Senior Director, Sales- Hydro Flask
Department: Hydro Flask- Home & Outdoor
Work Location: Bend, OR, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)
Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Senior Director of Sales plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and profitability across top North American retail accounts. This strategic leadership position exists to expand market presence through effective sales execution, innovative category management, and impactful promotional strategies. The Senior Director will lead efforts to secure new product placements, deepen existing customer relationships, and identify untapped business opportunities, both within and beyond the assigned account base. This role is essential to shaping the company's retail strategy and delivering sustainable, long-term growth.
What You Will Be Doing
Customer Financials, Relationship & Strategic P&L Ownership
- Lead strategic sales and marketing initiatives to achieve distribution, promotion, and profit goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key retail stakeholders to secure category leadership.
- Guide category reviews using data-driven insights and brand positioning.
- Manage account-level performance, P&L alignment, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop proposals grounded in customer financials and strategic priorities.
Employ I-RISE, Power of One, and Inclusion to Manage Your Team for Success
- Champion company values and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- Coach and develop direct reports; ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Promote collaboration across brand, marketing, and operations teams.
Ownership of Channel and/or Customer-Specific Strategies & Joint Business Plans (JBP)
- Develop and execute customer-specific strategies and JBPs to drive growth.
- Set measurable goals, monitor performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Provide insights for supply and demand planning; lead forecasting and S&OP processes.
Building Strong Customer Relationships and Representing the Voice of Customer/Channel
- Communicate customer strategies and programs internally.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure cohesive execution.
Skills Needed to Be Successful in This Role
Sales Strategy & Forecasting Expertise
- Proven ability in sales forecasting, demand planning, and S&OP/IBP processes, with a track record of improving forecast accuracy and aligning sales strategies with operational capabilities.
Financial & Analytical Acumen
- Deep understanding of retail and channel economics, including P&L ownership, cost-to-serve analysis, and profitability optimization. Strong command of financial modeling and scenario planning to support strategic proposals and investment decisions.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Skilled in leveraging sales analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, SPS, Circana) and interpreting retailer scorecards, POS data, and market share trends to guide strategic planning and execution.
Category Management & Joint Business Planning
- Expertise in category management and JBP with major retailers, using syndicated data and shopper insights to influence assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Supply Chain & Operational Alignment
- Familiarity with supply chain operations and inventory management systems, enabling effective collaboration with logistics and planning teams to meet customer expectations.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Experience leading high-performing teams in matrixed environments, integrating inputs from marketing, finance, product development, and operations. Demonstrated success in coaching, development, and fostering an inclusive, results-driven culture.
Proven Business Impact
- Delivered year-over-year revenue growth through strategic account management and targeted promotional execution. Negotiated multi-million-dollar distribution agreements, launched new product lines nationally, and improved channel profitability through optimized trade spend and cost-to-serve metrics.
Execution Excellence
- Achieved top retailer performance scores, expanded shelf presence, and increased category share through successful JBPs. Championed cross-functional collaboration to accelerate speed-to-market and align sales, marketing, and product development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- 12 years of years related experience
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
In Oregon the standard base pay range for this role is $163,884 - $204,855 annually. This base pay range is specific to OR and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
