Senior Test Manager – Web Applications (Automation and Performance) - (Hybrid)
Position Overview
The Senior Test Manager for Web Applications is responsible for leading multiple global QA teams focused on accelerating quality delivery through modern automation, CI/CD integration, and advanced performance testing. This role defines and drives the strategic direction for web application testing, ensuring seamless integration of new test automation tools such as AccelQ, enhanced test orchestration pipelines, and continuous improvement across all environments. This leader will collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, and Engineering to ensure test coverage, release readiness, and performance standards align with business and customer expectations. The Senior Test Manager will also mentor Test Managers and Engineers, drive the adoption of metrics-driven quality culture, and deliver high visibility reporting to the CSFW Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
• Lead and mentor multiple test teams across web applications, automation, and performance testing domains.• Define the long-term test automation and CI/CD integration roadmap, including AccelQ, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, BrowserStack, and BlazeMeter/Locust.• Establish organizational QA goals, KPIs, and quality maturity models; regularly report quality insights to executive leadership.• Partner with DevOps to embed automated quality gates and shift-left practices within the CI/CD pipeline.• Serve as the Quality Engineering SME, advising product and engineering leaders on testing strategy, scalability, and technical risk.
Automation & Tooling Modernization
• Drive expansion of test automation coverage across functional, regression, API, and end-to-end scenarios using AccelQ or equivalent low-code frameworks.• Define strategy for integrating automated testing into continuous delivery workflows and cloud-based execution environments.• Oversee evaluation and rollout of emerging tools that improve test velocity, reliability, and analytics.• Lead initiatives to consolidate disparate automation frameworks under a unified governance and reporting structure.
Performance & Reliability Engineering
• Implement standardized performance testing frameworks using tools such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, or Locust.• Define non-functional testing benchmarks (P95/P99 response times, scalability, and reliability).• Collaborate with architects to ensure performance testing is integrated early in the development lifecycle.• Translate performance results into actionable insights and recommendations for capacity planning.
Process & Quality Governance
• Ensure test strategies align with agile, SAFe, or DevOps delivery models.• Establish strong traceability from requirements to test execution and defect closure using Polarion, JIRA, or similar platforms.• Drive quality reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement across test practices.• Implement consistent use of IEEE829 and other QA documentation standards.
People Development & Collaboration
• Manage and grow Test Managers and Senior Engineers through mentoring, training, and performance management.• Build an innovation-focused testing culture, promoting automation-first and data-driven decision-making.• Foster cross-functional collaboration between QA, DevOps, and development teams to ensure continuous quality delivery.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership presence and ability to lead through influence in a global, matrixed organization.• Expertise in test automation strategy, CI/CD orchestration, and performance engineering.• Proficiency with AccelQ, Jenkins/Bamboo, Git, and BrowserStack/Sauce Labs.• In-depth knowledge of QA frameworks, including BDD/TDD, API testing, and test data management.• Solid understanding of database concepts, API structures, and microservices architecture.• Hands-on experience with continuous testing pipelines and test reporting dashboards.• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.• Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in quality metrics and cycle time reduction.
Education & Experience
Minimum Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).• 10+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3–5 years in QA leadership roles.• Demonstrable experience leading automation, CI/CD integration, and performance testing initiatives at scale.• Proven success in deploying modern test tools (AccelQ, Selenium, Postman, JMeter, etc.) and frameworks.• Experience managing globally distributed QA teams in agile environments.• Familiarity with regulated or high-compliance industries (medical device, financial, or enterprise SaaS).Preferred:• Certifications in ISTQB Advanced, DevOps Foundation, or Performance Engineering.• Working knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 standards.• Experience driving test transformation programs or establishing Centers of Excellence (TCoE).NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office. #LI-Hybrid

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $164,850.00 - $247,275.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
