THE ROLE
Join Portworx by Pure Storage as a Senior Technical Marketing Manager and become the architect of our competitive narrative. This is a high impact role at the core of Pure Storage's Cloud Native Business Unit where you will own the technical positioning for Kubernetes data management. This role involves creative work designing demos, crafting unique stories, and engaging directly with some of the most innovative customers and technical communities.
Get hands-on with cutting-edge technologies-from application modernization to AI/ML workloads-and see firsthand how work influences product direction and customer adoption. This role offers a front-row seat to the evolution and adoption of Kubernetes, the chance to build a personal brand in the CNCF ecosystem, and the opportunity to make a visible impact across technical and business audiences. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Strategic Content Ownership: Define and lead the creation of complex, high-impact technical content, including deep-dive white papers, technical demos, technical blogs tailored for multiple audiences. Ensure all materials clearly align customer pain points and industry trends with Portworx's unique value.
- Competitive Strategy & Benchmarking: Own and drive the competitive strategy for Portworx. This includes performing hands-on technical benchmarking against key competitors, creating definitive competitive positioning guides, battlecards, and objection handling materials, and communicating key intelligence findings to internal stakeholders.
- Thought Leadership: Proactively secure and execute high-profile speaking opportunities at major industry conferences hosting expert-level community engagement events, and mentor field teams on technical positioning.
- Kubernetes Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on the Portworx product portfolio, advanced use cases. and the entire competitive landscape. Drive the technical messaging strategy to differentiate Portworx effectively in saturated markets.
- GTM Alignment & Enablement: Drive cross-functional go-to-market alignment across Product Management, Sales Engineering, Field Marketing, and Alliances. Develop and deliver comprehensive technical training and enablement packages, particularly competitive enablement, to ensure the sales organization is proficient in positioning and demonstrating Portworx solutions.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 6 + years of experience in Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architect, or equivalent role within the Kubernetes or Cloud-Native ecosystem.
- Established authority as an engaging speaker and authoritative technical writer, capable of transforming complex technical data into clear, compelling, and market-ready narratives.
- Understanding of platform engineering, developer experience best practices, and modern cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, open-source data services, data protection, virtualization).
- In-depth knowledge of key audiences: Platform Engineers, DevOps, Cloud Architects, SREs, IT infrastructure managers, and IT Decision Makers.
- Stay current with Kubernetes, container storage, AI and cloud-native trends to keep Portworx content and demos relevant.
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work with both internal teams and external audiences.
- Growth mindset and a commitment to setting the standard for best-in-class technical marketing execution.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
There is no application deadline and we accept applications on an ongoing basis until the job is filled.
The annual base salary range is:
$175,000-$265,000 USD
