Job Description
Senior Global HR Data Analyst
Location: Hybrid- Alpharetta, GA or Lenexa, KS
Sompo is seeking a Senior Global HR Data Analyst to join our HR Technology team, a key function within our Global Human Resources organization. This is a high-impact role where you'll harness the full potential of Workday to manage, analyze, and transform HR data into actionable insights that shape strategic decisions across the business.
We're looking for a data-driven problem solver with deep expertise in Workday reporting and analytics, a passion for turning complex data into clear, compelling stories, and the ability to partner across functions to influence outcomes.
What You'll Do
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reports and dashboards (calculated fields, matrix reports, custom analytics).
- Analyze HR data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities that inform workforce planning, talent management, and organizational strategy.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to define data needs and deliver actionable insights.
Insightful Storytelling & Communication
- Create high-impact presentations that translate complex data into clear, visually engaging insights for executives and stakeholders.
- Tailor messaging to align with business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Present findings in a way that drives informed, confident decision-making.
Workday Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the go-to expert for Workday reporting and analytics.
- Configure and optimize Workday modules (Core HCM, Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, Time Tracking) to meet evolving business needs.
- Support system upgrades, testing, and the rollout of new features.
Data Governance & Quality
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and issue resolution.
- Develop and enforce HR data governance policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with HR and IT to troubleshoot and resolve Workday data issues.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Partner with HR business partners, IT, and other stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Provide training and guidance to HR team members on Workday reporting and analytics tools.
- Act as a bridge between HR and technical teams to ensure alignment on data initiatives.
Strategic Insights & Recommendations
- Deliver predictive and prescriptive analytics to guide HR strategies and initiatives.
- Provide insights into key workforce metrics (turnover, diversity, headcount, engagement).
- Identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.
What You Bring
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
Experience
- 5-7 years in HR data analysis, including 3+ years of Workday experience.
- Proven track record in building advanced Workday reports and dashboards.
- Experience with HR metrics, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Workday reporting tools (Advanced Reporting, Workday Prism, Worksheets).
- Strong skills in Excel and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Expertise in creating professional, impactful PowerPoint presentations.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and data integration concepts.

Salary Range: Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience. Our compensation program is built on a foundation that promotes a pay-for-performance culture, resulting in higher incentive awards, on average, when the Company does well and lower incentive awards when the Company underperforms. The total compensation opportunity for all regular, full-time employees is a combination of base salary and incentives that gets adjusted upfront based on overall Company performance with final awards based on individual performance.
