Responsible for leveraging advanced analytics and data science to drive pricing strategies, optimize revenue, and maximize price performance across our product offering. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and pricing experts to create impactful pricing solutions, refine discount logic, and support consistency across product categories and regions.

Essential Job Duties

  • Partner with pricing and business experts to maintain, refine, and scale price-setting logic across downstream systems, supporting pricing consistency across categories and regions.
  • Work alongside data professionals, including data engineers and IT, to design robust data models and algorithms that support pricing systems, target discount logic, and other core data-driven pricing solutions.
  • Analyze large, diverse datasets to test hypotheses, conduct predictive modeling, and inform pricing decisions across product lines.
  • Manage pricing engines/algorithms for >1,000,000 individual SKUs across 5+ price levels.
  • Contribute to shaping the Pricing Analytics roadmap by identifying emerging data science needs, recommending analytical tools, and proposing new methodologies to support the pricing function.
  • Drive continuous KPI tracking to assess the effectiveness of pricing initiatives, detect trends, and support proactive, data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and reporting for real-time business needs, ensuring insights are accessible and relevant to key stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with the Pricing leadership team and other cross-functional teams, establishing trust through consistent, high-quality insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a professional data scientist, ideally within industrial goods, engineering products, distribution, or B2B sales environments.
  • Proficiency in data science tools and languages, particularly Python and SQL.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data visualization and analytics tools, especially Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of pricing and econometrics concepts, including elasticity.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across functions.
  • High fluency using analytics tools in a business setting, including Excel and report-building software (experience with Power BI or SQL a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Demonstrate use of computer operations (programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and software packages.
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with colleagues, and deliver presentations to departmental or middle management.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays.
