About Our Job
Denver International Airport (DEN) is seeking a Staff Assistant to join our Airport Services Team. In this position, you will provide essential administrative, clerical, and program support to ensure the efficient delivery of airport services programs and contracts. This may include work with various Maintenance Services, Janitorial, Waste Management, and Window Cleaning services. The Staff Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the team that provides high-quality service to DEN's airline partners, TSA, airport employees, and our passengers.

Furlough Days
The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Saturday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).
What You'll Do
The Staff Assistant will assist in maintaining compliance documentation, supporting contract oversight activities, preparing reports, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational and administrative skills who is eager to learn more about contract administration and management while contributing to the success of one of the world's busiest airports.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides administrative/executive support to the Senior Director of Airport Services, Director, unit managers, and front-line supervisors and staff as needed.
Cultivate, foster, and maintain positive working relationships (both internally and externally) with managers, supervisors, and employees.
Serve as an authorized signatory supporting the duties associated with issuance of new badges, badge renewals and a liaison between the department and Airport Security.
Provide administrative and clerical support for Airport Services programs and contracts such as Facilities, Snow, Janitorial Services, Window Cleaning, Pest Control, etc.
Assist in preparing, formatting, and distributing reports, memos, meeting notes, and presentations.
Support financial processes by organizing invoices, monitoring expenditures, and assisting with budget preparation.
Maintain contract files, records, and correspondence to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with City and DEN requirements.
Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the monitoring of key performance metrics, inspection schedules, and compliance documentation.
Receive, track, and follow up on inquiries from stakeholders, contractors, and the public to ensure timely responses.
Assist with event coordination, conference logistics, and program outreach.
Research and compile information for reports, presentations, and project documentation.
Perform data entry, update databases, and generate reports to support department contracts, compliance and team activities.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Location and Schedule
In this position you can expect to work all on site Monday- Friday, standard business hours with the ability to respond to emergencies and support Snow Operations in an administrative capacity.
This individual will report in person to Denver International Airport. Employee parking provided.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience supporting teams in a maintenance, facilities, janitorial, or operations environment is a plus.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Microsoft 365 and ability to learn new software systems.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience preparing reports, presentations, data summaries, and financial tracking preferred.
Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirement: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing specialized and/or technical office support work of the type and at the level of Administrative Support Assistant IV.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of education may be substituted for each year of experience required.
License/Certifications: None
FBI Background Check
FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Shift Work, Snow Duties, and Emergency Incidents
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant, or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
