About The Team:
Join a dynamic engineering team focused on enhancing the Seller Experience and driving the growth of Walmart's Marketplace and Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS). As part of Walmart e Commerce, you'll play a key role in reshaping the future of shopping by developing innovative solutions that impact millions of shoppers. Walmart Marketplace is a community of trusted sellers offering high-quality products and exceptional customer service which is an essential component of Walmart's growth strategy. Through WFS, sellers can leverage Walmart's advanced fulfillment infrastructure to streamline operations and improve delivery to customers. In this fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions that push the boundaries of e Commerce and fulfillment, driving Walmart's digital growth.Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.
What you'll do...
- Through this role you have an opportunity to design and develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.
- You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
- In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all codes, best practices and create updates regularly to address the customers and companys concerns.
- You will show your skills in analyzing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance.
- You will be required to review design and code, provide technical solutions to team for complex requirements.
- Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
- Software security is of prime importance and by developing programs that monitor sharing of private information, you will be able to add tremendous credibility to your work.
- You will also be required to seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
- You will be called upon to support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelors/Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
- 10 years of object-oriented programming experience in Java, Spring boot, Microservices, React.
- Experience working in Azure SQL, Cosmos, Blob Storage, GCS, Hive, Apache Spark and Airflow.
- Expected to integrate AI-powered assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI systems) into daily workflows to streamline development tasks, accelerate decision support, and improve overall efficiency.
- Good understanding of Data Structures.
- 8+ years of experience in systems design, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Have programming experience preferably in the Finance/ retail / ecommerce industry.
- Python knowledge would be an added advantage.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Experience working in Agile Methodology.
- Experience using CI/CD, tools for logging and metrics.
- A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, willingness to learn new and emerging technologies
- A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment
- Experience with being a core contributor to a software project: understanding domain and business requirements, being responsible for critical parts of the application
- Experience working with logging and application monitoring stack: Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk etc.
- Good communication skills, working in multi-team project
- A constant desire to improve, learn more, and take things to the next level, and a passion for adopting the latest features in the technologies that we leverage
- Experience in tools to improve the developer productivity in creating applications
- Experience in AI, Gen AI, LLM’s, creating chatbots, etc.
