Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Own the full life cycle of manufacturing equipment projects from specification to deployment
  • Create concept designs for green field manufacturing processes
  • Contribute to design for manufacturing and automation feedback
  • Document and present design trade offs to project stakeholders
  • Perform engineering analysis of systems and components to validate equipment designs
  • Design and analyze mechanisms and system kinematics
  • Identify, select, and size off the shelf actuators and sensors to meet project requirements
  • Complete system design of mechatronic and fluid power equipment, with both open and closed loop controls
  • Analyze the stress and deflection of machine components
  • Select proper materials and mechanical components
  • Perform tolerance stack analyses of systems
  • Manage procurement and assembly of all components in system design
  • Support equipment bring up, process development, and equipment handoff to operations
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues on the factory floor
  • Develop tools to increase team productivity
  • Advise team members on machine architecture decisions

What you need:

  • 5+ year work experience and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic, or a equivalent & related practical experience
  • Experience commissioning and improving equipment
  • Proficiency using 2D & 3D CAD to generate manufacturing layouts, assembly models, and detailed part drawings for fabrication
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering analysis and GD&T
  • Excellent communicator, both in presentations and written reports
  • Able to maintain organization and focus in a highly dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with hand tools
  • Prefer ability to travel 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Development of electric powertrain manufacturing equipment and process
  • Prior internships or full-time experience in Aerospace manufacturing engineering or similar role
  • NX software experience
  • Machining, welding, fabrication experience
  • Experience developing production lines from prototype to production
  • Experience with PLM, MES, and ERP software.
  • Direct experience programming and troubleshooting industrial automation (PLC, robots, gantries, etc…)

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $141,780.00 - $166,800.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
