Job Description

Supports Application and Information Technology Audits by following established procedures and guidelines while completing assigned tasks related to the IT audit process. May extract and mine data in order to identify trends as well as potential issues and suggest improvements. Utilizes and/or creates Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) while learning to interrogate the company's electronic information. May make recommendations for improvements and implement changes to CAATs. Gains an understanding of walkthroughs and develops skills in recognition and identification of IT risks and controls. Prepares appropriate documentation and workpapers using automated audit software where appropriate; may draft findings for review.

Essential Job Responsibilities__

  1. Supports Application and Information Technology Audits by following established procedures and guidelines while completing assigned tasks related to the IT audit process.

  2. May extract and mine data in order to identify trends as well as potential issues and suggest improvements.

  3. Utilizes and/or creates Computer-assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) while learning to interrogate the company's electronic information. May make recommendations for improvements and implement changes to CAATs.

  4. Learns and develops an understanding of basic bank terminology, products, and processes. Develops familiarity with bank applications.

  5. Assists other Audit Departments (i.e. Operations, Financial, and Credit Review) as necessary and learns to apply cross-functional auditing skills.

  6. Gains an understanding of walkthroughs and develops skills in recognition and identification of IT risks and controls.

  7. Prepares appropriate documentation and workpapers using automated audit software; may draft findings for review.

  8. Informs Audit Supervisor(s) of audit progress and/or difficulties, and provides updates of potential changes and/or recommends enhancements to work programs based upon circumstances encountered during the course of audit.

  9. Coordinates and communicates with other departments and external auditors as required to facilitate the exchange of necessary information and documentation.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___

  1. A Bachelor's degree in MIS, Accounting, or related field and/or equivalent coursework and/or experience required.

  2. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have the ability to program (write code) in at least one language.

  3. Basic knowledge of Information Technology systems required.

  4. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

  5. Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel regionally if necessary.
