Job Description

Come join the growing field of cannabis! High Plainz Strains is seeking an experienced Store Manager for my (Fort Lupton, CO) to lead daily store operations, develop retail teams, ensure MED compliance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience in a regulated dispensary environment.

This is a full-time position, regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week, typically across 5 shifts. Overtime may be required based on business needs. Open availability is required, as the store operates 8:00 am–10:00 pm daily, including weekends and holidays. The store is closed on Christmas Day. Candidates must be 21 years of age and hold a current MED Badge (or be eligible to obtain one). 

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Store Manager to lead our team in providing outstanding customer service while ensuring full compliance with cannabis industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership abilities and a passion for fostering a positive, welcoming atmosphere for both customers and team members.

Pay - this position starts at $21/hour plus tips.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Train, and develop staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure outstanding customer service by training staff to assist customers effectively and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Sales Management: Drive sales growth through strategic planning, promotional activities, and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including stock ordering, tracking, and loss prevention to ensure product availability and compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including those from the Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) and the company.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage daily financial operations, including cash handling, sales reporting, and budget adherence.
  • Store Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant store environment that meets the highest standards for both safety and presentation.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance and staff productivity, providing regular feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of retail management experience; cannabis dispensary experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a regulated retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis products, compliance standards, and customer education.
  • Experience with POS systems, inventory management software, and cash handling.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Proficiency with business technology including HR systems and Google Workspace.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must hold a current MED Badge (or be eligible to obtain one).
