Description

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the maintenance of existing business and development of new business with the K12 industry's largest bus contractors (top 10 by fleet size).

Responsibilities

  • Actively pursue new business with large bus contractors across all of the transportation product lines.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with existing and prospective clients in the segment.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to introduce, promote and close business to this market segment across all of the transportation product lines.
  • Develop proposals, quotes and agreements to meet specific needs of this segment.
  • Represent the company in one-on-one meetings with clients and prospects, group meetings such as tradeshows and in a consulting capacity in public presentations.
  • Attend trade shows and other industry events as required.
  • Work with Corporate Marketing Department to create promotions and campaigns to the target market
  • Develop relationships and work with other Tyler divisions on cross-selling and promotional efforts.
  • Maintain business contacts and liaison with outside groups and professional associations to keep abreast of advancements and developments in the transportation software industry.
  • Perform other job-related duties, tasks or special projects as may be assigned,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Master's Degree preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong IT and software knowledge
  • Some experience with project management is desired
  • Experience coordinating multiple internal resources without direct reporting relationships
  • 7 or more years' experience selling to and managing complex vendor and large k12 client relationships
  • Ability to negotiate and close sales deals
  • Computer proficiency in sales oriented software, communications software, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer service skills (service oriented personality)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients on technical and business issues
  • 25-50% Travel
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with internal and external clients
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
