Job Description
At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Inglewood, CA! About the Role: As an Structured Literacy Tutor (Dyslexia Focus) at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in the Los Angeles, including Inglewood, CA.
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Inglewood, CA
- Schedule: 2x a week, 5pm onwards on weekdays
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Ideal Candidate:
- Certified or highly experienced in dyslexia intervention (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Barton, etc.)
- Strong background in special education and working with students on the autism spectrum
- Patient, engaging, and able to adjust instruction to support both academic and processing needs
- Familiar with strategies to address reading comprehension and motor coordination challenges
- Able to build rapport and create a positive, structured learning environment
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 academic instruction in reading and math tailored to the student’s IEP goals and current skill level
- Implement structured, multi-sensory reading strategies to support dyslexia (e.g., Orton-Gillingham-based methods)
- Support foundational math concepts with a focus on multiplication and number sense
- Adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of a student on the autism spectrum
- Create a calm, engaging, and consistent learning environment to support focus and reduce frustration
- Incorporate visual aids, manipulatives, and hands-on tools to reinforce learning
- Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage participation and build confidence
- Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers to maintain consistency and share updates
