Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Superintendent, Electrical to join our team supporting the Uranium Processing Facility! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of electrical construction activities for UPF, including planning, coordinating work, and supervising subcontractors and field crews.

  • Act as a communication link between office personnel (like project managers) and field personnel.

  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, building codes, and regulations, including implementing safety standards and procedures.

  • Coordinate with general foremen to acquire necessary equipment and manpower.

  • Adhere to electrical codes and standards.

  • Maintain the project schedule and budget and submit required reports.

  • Provide technical direction to craft supervisors and craft workers.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma and 9+ years of relevant experience.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

  • Must have experience working in electrical trades, often progressing through roles like foreman and general foreman.

  • Must have a strong electrical execution background and the ability to read and understand blueprints.

  • Must have a working knowledge of design codes and standards, such as NFPA 70 and NEC.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is preferred.

About the Site

The Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) is a construction project at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee that is intended to modernize and replace aging facilities for uranium operations. Once complete, UPF will support the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile, naval reactors, and defense nuclear nonproliferation while ensuring the long-term safety, security, and viability of enriched uranium capabilities in the United States. (energy.gov).
