Job Description:
The Shift Supervisor assists the Plant Manager in achieving production, quality, housekeeping, and safety goals. The Supervisor coordinates activities of production employees to achieve production of quality product at standard output rates or better, and to meet production goals and customer requirements. The Shift Supervisor audits employee adherence to company policies, as well as ISO, 5S, and safety programs.
3rd shift: Monday to Friday 10:30PM to 7:00AM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Start up and shut down manufacturing floor, including all machines, fixtures, and extruders.
Ensure that machines are operating on the correct settings and cycles.
Verify that acceptable quality is being produced on each machine.
Sign off on each new order to verify that all specifications pertaining to that particular order are being met and that acceptable first part quality is being produced.
Requisition components, supplies, and graphics per schedule.
Verify and report all production and scrap produced on the shift.
Ensure that employees make all required quality checks on everybody and lid.
Follow the schedule provided and produce only what is required to complete the orders.
Track labor efficiency, downtime, scrap, and schedule adherence daily with work centers and Plant Manager.
Enforce all company policies and adherence to ISO, 5S and safety programs
Implement company improvement plans for productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
Participate and promote associates' involvement in quality, safety, and productivity improvement activities.
Understand how job function relates to ISO requirements.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and assign shift associates to work centers as required to meet production schedule.
Administer disciplinary warnings and reprimands to employees when necessary.
Monitor and evaluate performance of each employee.
Clearly communicate goals, expectations and provide constructive feedback.
Keep employee files on all associates, including PTO and follow all EHS requirements regarding accident reports.

Directly accountable for the actions and activities of all employees as relates to safety, the adoption, promotion and adherence to the Safety Program by all employees on the team
Adhere to all Safety Responsibilities as indicated in the site Safety Program (See attached)
Assist Human Resources and the Plant Manager in assuring all new employees receive proper safety training and orientation.
III. Qualifications
Intelligent and detail oriented, with proficient verbal and written communication skills
Goal oriented and upwardly mobile
Skillful in leading, motivating, and directing groups in problem solving.
Experienced in employee performance management.
Ability to delegate and follow up.
Competent math and computer skills.
Optional: Bilingual- Plus if able to communicate in Spanish.
