The CT Service Line Supervisor will supervise and coordinate daily and ongoing operations for the CT program at Navicent Health. Patient Care and delivery standards are carried out in a compassionate and ethical manner. Ensures Navicent Health standards and imaging protocols and procedures are followed. Responsible for the ACR accreditation and tool book. Ensures effective utilization of personnel and supplies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Direct daily workflow during day shift hours to meet the needs of all customers, including communications with other technologists/CT staff when changes are made in patient or department schedule. Performs exams as needed to help facilitate efficient workflow. Is a liaison between the Radiologist and referring physician when additional information is required before or after procedure.
- Establishes and maintains standards of performance for CT program. Ensures all CT program employees follow quality and patient safety guidelines utilizing imaging corrective action plan as necessary. Monitor CT staff productivity, capacity and volume to ensure optimum performance in the CT program. Review daily exam completion to ensure appropriate charges are applied
- Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities for CT department involving staff as needed to come up with ideas for process improvements and solutions to problems. Responsible for implementation of process improvements in CT. Reviews Imaging Service Dashboard and provides input for process improvements throughout Imaging Services. Responsible, along with QA coordinator in managing the radiation dose tracking and protocols for the CT Service Line across Navicent Health, including all outpatient facilities as well as Medical Center of Peach County.
- Evaluates and recommends equipment selection when requested. Troubleshoots equipment to avoid downtime, and coordinates maintenance with Biomed or vendors.
- Assists in preparation of annual operating budget. Responsible to meet operational budget and will provide justification for any variances including but not limited to overtime and PRN staff utilization. Will report budgetary issues at imaging services leadership meeting.
- Attend weekly imaging leadership meetings, reporting on all aspects of CT program. Obtains constructive feedback at the meeting as well as provides feedback for other modality service line supervisors/managers. Works with other service line supervisors/managers to ensure operational consistency across imaging services.
- Be responsible for screening, interviewing and hiring applicants. Provide orientation for new staff members. Revise job descriptions. Conducts regular staff or team meetings.
- Promotes intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships. Works closely and amicably with nursing units and other procedural areas to ensure quality patient service and ensures all CT staff do the same.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Graduate of an AMA, JRC or regionally accredited school of radiologic technology
- Minimum of three years of radiology experience preferred.
