The Supplier Part Testing Lab Technician is responsible for auditing, testing, investigating, and documenting supplier parts removed from production or customer units. You’ll use specialized lab equipment to test, troubleshoot, and support problem-solving activities alongside engineering, operations, and supplier quality teams. By maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient lab environment, you’ll help drive improvements that strengthen product performance and customer satisfaction.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Inspect and triage supplier parts in the receiving area and lab.
  • Perform tests on returned or suspect parts using tools such as multimeters, microscopes, and fixtured testers.
  • Investigate and document root causes of part failures when applicable.
  • Enter findings into databases and communicate results to Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE), engineers, and repair operators.
  • Maintain 5S standards (organization, cleanliness, efficiency) across the lab and storage areas.
  • Ensure lab equipment is properly serviced, calibrated, and functioning reliably.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) testing and provide feedback to engineering teams.
  • Partner with engineering staff to solve problems, test modified supplier parts, and ensure quality improvements.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; additional technical education or training is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with quality, testing, or process improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with electronic components (e.g., wire harnesses, PCBA boards, motors, LEDs, sensors, valves).

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and communicate findings clearly.

  • Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and communicate across shifts.

  • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn multiple software systems.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.

  • Six Sigma training or certification.

  • Experience managing lab operations (scheduling, resourcing, training).

  • Understanding of schematics, ESD (electrostatic discharge) standards, and electronic lab safety.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily lab-based role; requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in line with 5S and ESD standards.
