Supplier Quality Engineer

In the semiconductor industry, quality is paramount. As our customers move to more advanced nodes, their sensitivity to product variation increases and their expectations of suppliers and sub-suppliers grows. Critical to meeting our customers' needs is a growing Supplier Quality Team, so that we can hold incoming quality to a level that creates consistent final product in HDM and Chemicals. HDM Parlin's 6.2% growth in 2021 and slated potential growth is an indication of the additional work required by the group with upcoming changes in critical raw materials, assessments of second sourcing, and escalations of supplier quality deviations. HDM's Supplier Quality Group is being developed to meet industry expectations by managing incoming raw material changes, interfacing with suppliers during audits and quality meetings, and managing raw material quality using SPC methods.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading Root Cause Investigations pertaining to raw materials and working with experts to understand product impact
  • Conducting Supplier Audits and interface with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and service
  • Monitoring incoming raw material quality using SPC tools and establishing OCAP process with vendors
  • Orienting suppliers to the requirements of the semiconductor industry
  • Improving supplier agreements with regards to management of change
  • Managing Raw Material Changes through HDM and Chemicals
  • Collaborating with R&D to evaluate suppliers for new product applications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, in Chemical Engineering or related discipline, required; Master's degree is a plus
  • 4+ years relevant professional experience required
  • Knowledge of Supplier Management and Raw Materials required
  • Demonstrated experience managing raw material quality using SPC methods strongly preferred
  • Semiconductor, or related, industry experience is preferred
