Job Description
Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our Towson, Maryland office. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team on a wide range of land development, infrastructure, and construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief, with demonstrated expertise in boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. Candidates should be comfortable utilizing advanced survey technology and interpreting construction plans to perform accurate and efficient field work.
Key Responsibilities
Perform field surveys as a one-person crew using state-of-the-art robotic and GPS equipment
Complete construction layout and stakeout using construction plans, cut sheets, and survey calculations
Conduct boundary and title surveys, topographic surveys, and accurate field data collection
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality and schedule adherence
Maintain clear and professional written and verbal communication
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief
Strong working knowledge of construction layout, survey calculations, and field procedures
Experience with boundary, title, and topographic surveys
Proficiency with automated survey instrumentation and GPS equipment
AutoCAD experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
