JOB SUMMARY: The Systems Support Specialist is responsible for the operation of all information technology. This includes all hardware and software including the phone system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides customer service and technical assistance to all users (physicians and medical office personnel).
- Responsible for training and resolving escalated tickets for Helpdesk Representatives.
- Adds and configure users for multiple systems including AD and EMR systems.
- Maintains and sets up new software on servers.
- Provides advanced troubleshooting support with a variety of IT hardware, such as copiers, fax machines, printers, scanners, cell phones, pagers, etc.
- Provides support for the Mitel Phone System, as well as the wireless ASCOM and iPhones for Clinical staff.
- Creates and configures software packages for distribution.
- Creates and maintains network printers through Group Policy.
- Must be willing to work additional hours with little or no notice in the event of a disaster. Evening, Weekends, and sometimes Holidays are necessary.
- Responsible to cover on-call rotation schedule for evenings and weekends.
- May train newly hired staff and physicians as needed.
- Takes on the most difficult of tasks and may take on extra responsibilities, such as special projects, research, etc. at the direction of the Director and Supervisor.
- Works on Clinical Applications as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree in Information Systems or related area preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare environment highly preferred.
- Must possess good working knowledge of basic networking, database, and MS Windows. Previous experience working with an EMR is a plus.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and maintenance skills with hardware and software.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a stressful environment.
- Must be capable of working efficiently as a member of the IT team as well as independently.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills are required.
