KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced and highly motivated Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join our team. We offer competitive salaries and benefits with outstanding growth potential.Overview:The Systems Engineer, Journeyman will support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program provides systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program. The program which this position supportsis responsible for managing the aircraft, simulators, and associated systems that support the U.S. Navy’s undergraduate pilot training pipeline.Primary Duties:
- Support systems engineering activities related to sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II.
- Monitor system performance, integration, and airworthiness
- Coordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness.
- Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards.
- Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
- Desired Experience:
- Fixed-Wing Aviation Experience: familiarity with aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing aircraft.
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes and naval acquisition lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.
