JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the full recruitment life cycle for POET. Team members in this role have a solid understanding of recruiting needs while assisting in attracting, engaging, and hiring top talent in the industry. This role supports Talent Acquisition Partners on key talent acquisition processes and programs and assists in managing the candidate experience by engaging talent through pre-boarding. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicates effectively, acts with urgency, and brings a passion for helping others.

This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:

  • Post job openings to external recruiting sites as needed; analyze performance and provide insights and recommendations to the Talent Acquisition team.

  • Assist with strategic talent sourcing utilizing external and internal databases.

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews as needed.

  • Manage the offer letter process, including preparing and tracking offer letters.

  • Oversee the pre-employment process, coordinating details with candidates and POET’s pre-employment vendor, and providing regular updates to Talent Acquisition Partners and leaders.

  • Manage candidate engagement throughout the preboarding process, ensuring a positive experience, timely communication, and strong representation of POET as an employer of choice.

  • Understand big-picture Talent Acquisition processes and team vision to drive decision-making. 

  • Provide preboarding process training to new administrative team members.

  • Act as the first point of contact for general Talent Acquisition inquiries.

  • Update/add process documentation for changes as needed.

  • Attend Career Fair events, as needed.

  • Assist in preparing reports on Talent Acquisition metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, time-to-hire, and source of hire).

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, preferably in human resource management, organizational psychology, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, HR Assistant, or similar role is preferred.

  • Prior customer service experience is required.

  • Basic knowledge of labor legislation.

  • Experience using professional social networks (LinkedIn, in particular).

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills with a sense of urgency that drives results.

  • Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs.

  • Bonus Points: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in an office environment, working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand. Most of our Sioux Falls office workspace consists of an open-concept design intended to promote open communication and collaboration.
