POSITION SUMMARY
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for supporting and carrying out full-cycle recruitment for campus-based and program positions across the agency. This on-site role may be assigned to multiple agency sites, managing requisitions, screenings, interviews, pre-employment checks, and onboarding tasks, while also serving as a point of contact for routine HR questions at the assigned location.
The Specialist applies and reinforces consistent recruitment and onboarding workflows across sites, working closely with the HR team to ensure processes align with agency practices. This position helps ensure timely hiring, accurate documentation, and a positive candidate and new-hire experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for campus-based and program positions, with flexibility to support multiple agency sites as needed.
- Maintain ATS workflows for assigned requisitions, ensuring candidate records, postings, and communication logs are accurate and up to date.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to confirm staffing needs and requisition details across assigned programs or sites.
- Collaborate with Marketing on employer branding and recruitment campaigns across multiple sites and program areas.
- Apply fair and inclusive hiring practices in alignment with agency policy and applicable law.
- Support internal offers and transfers across campuses, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Conduct applicant reviews, interviews, reference checks, and determine qualifications against position requirements.
- Coordinate pre-hire requirements and onboarding tasks, including background checks and compliance documentation.
- Provide weekly recruiting updates and metrics to the HR Manager for assigned programs and locations.
- Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent communication about candidate status, offers, and onboarding progress.
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff on routine HR-related questions at the assigned site, directing employees to the appropriate HR team member when needed.
- Participate in job fairs, outreach events, and community-based recruitment efforts on behalf of the agency's campuses and programs.
- Support New Employee Orientation (NEO) and onboarding activities, as assigned by HR Leadership.
- Exercise judgment in evaluating candidates and providing hiring recommendations, with final decisions escalated to managers and HR leadership.
- Occasional off-hours availability to meet candidate or manager scheduling needs.
- On-site at multiple agency locations, with regular travel between campuses, headquarters, and other sites for recruitment, hiring events, and onboarding support.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience using Paylocity ATS or similar applicant tracking systems
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated experience in developing outreach and sourcing strategies for diverse candidate pools
- Must meet DCFS/CANTS Clearance Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and maintain proof of automobile insurance
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- High school diploma required with 2- 3 years of recruitment or HR experience (nonprofit, residential, or social services a plus).

TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention). Employees must:
- Pass the written test annually
- Pass the physical test every six months (if applicable to their role)

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a professional office environment at multiple agency locations, with travel between campuses and other locations for hiring events, outreach, or organizational needs.
This role may require occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds), walking or standing for events, and exposure to varying environments based on recruitment needs.
