Job Description
Willis Johnson & Associates (WJA) is seeking 1–2 motivated Juniors, Seniors, or Master’s students to join our Tax Internship Program.
WJA is a Registered Investment Advisory firm, not a CPA firm, providing high-net-worth clients with comprehensive financial planning across all life stages, including tax planning and compliance. As a tax intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in tax services while also seeing how tax integrates into broader wealth management strategies.
This internship is a great fit for students interested in pursuing the CPA or CFP designation.

Program Highlights
- 40-hour/week, paid internship
- Part of our Protégé Program: technical training, one-on-one mentoring, and networking opportunities
- Exposure to strategy sessions, client meetings, and the chance to lead a tax research project
- Prepare individual, fiduciary, and business income tax returns
- Compile and input data using Thomson Reuters UltraTax software
- Manage workflows and organize returns in a paperless system
- Partner with the Tax Manager and wealth managers to deliver outstanding client service
- Support the Tax Operations team during busy season with client relations and project organization
- Complete one specialized tax research project and present findings to members of the firm
- Accounting or Finance major with an interest in Tax
- Career goals in Public Accounting or Wealth Management
- Strong initiative and organizational skills
- Proficiency with technology, research, and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Professional presence and ability to work under deadlines
- Paid internships:
- Sophomore: $19/hr
- Junior: $22/hr
- Senior: $24/hr
- Graduate/Post-Grad/MBA: $26/hr
