Engagement Review & Quality Assurance

  • Review individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns for compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

  • Evaluate accuracy, completeness, and technical soundness of tax positions and calculations.

  • Ensure all tax work adheres to firm policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Technical Guidance & Compliance Oversight

  • Provide technical expertise on complex tax issues, including IRS regulations, planning strategies, and new/emerging tax laws.

  • Maintain documentation on quality control processes and compliance standards.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.

Risk Management

  • Detect and address potential risks in tax filings with thorough documentation and review protocols.

  • Communicate findings with preparers and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance practices meet AICPA, PCAOB, and other regulatory standards.

Staff Training & Development

  • Conduct training on quality standards, tax law updates, and compliance best practices.

  • Mentor and guide staff to strengthen technical knowledge and compliance expertise.

Client & Internal Communication

  • Collaborate with partners, managers, and staff to address client-specific tax or quality control concerns.

  • Explain complex technical matters to clients clearly and effectively when required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required.

  • Experience: 6–8 years in tax preparation and review, with a strong background in quality control or review in a CPA firm environment.

  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws; proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical/problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tax quality control processes in a CPA firm environment.

  • Proficiency with advanced tax software and research tools (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint).

  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop junior staff.

This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.We are excited to invite talented individuals to join our dynamic team! This position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000–$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
