JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE)
- Under the direction of the insurance supervisor, the person in this position is responsible for servicing and managing a commercial real estate portfolio in the most timely, efficient and responsible manner in order to protect the interest of investors. Under limited supervision, this individual will perform a wide variety of highly complex tasks or functions which are at times exceptions to standard procedures or guidelines and require additional research for resolution or completion. This position requires a broad and deep understanding of commercial insurance practices and procedures and the ability to exercise independent judgment to resolve problems. This person is a leader and provides assistance to team members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage and service portfolios that are very complex and/or unique in their structure and servicing requirements. Review, analyze and interpret all types of property and liability insurance policies, operating statements and property appraisals for commercial loans to ensure compliance with the loan documents, investor requirements and internal policies and procedures
Assist Insurance Supervisor in monitoring insurance policy reviews and reviewing status reports and follow-up to ensure that reviews are completed timely
Manage and ensure the data contained in the servicing system is updated to reflect the current status regarding insurance policy effective dates and coverage amounts and proper loan review documentation as required are completed in the Insurance System for all loans
Conduct periodic audits of the insurance loan-servicing file looking for special conditions, non-compliant items and requirements that may be problematic. Follow-up to ensure the insurance specialist has resolved all non-compliant findings
Oversee and monitor existing portfolio to ensure adherence to all internal policies and procedures
Perform both classroom and informal training for new employees
Assist the Insurance Supervisor in organizing and gathering of data needed for the preparation of insurance waivers
Review and initiate forced place insurance coverage that is required on the Portfolio due to inaction of the borrower
Interact with borrowers and staff members to resolve unusual circumstances or exception items, as they relate to commercial real estate insurance. Interact with other departments within the company to facilitate the timely resolution of insurance related issues
Authorize routine escrow disbursements following clearly established guidelines
MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS
Recommend revisions to policies and procedures.
Assist insurance supervisor in establishing departmental goals to meet company objectives
Oversee and monitor any force place insurance coverage recommendations
Lead special projects in regards to loan acquisitions or conversions
Assist the department supervisor in leading team when necessary
Respond to customer inquiries that relate to complex insurance needs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Broad based commercial insurance, loan servicing experience, or supervisory experience.
Legal document review and interpretation experience
Detail oriented and task management focused
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree
Seven years experience in commercial insurance lines or similar analytical role.
Three years commercial insurance agency or insurance carrier work experience.
Industry related designation or licensing.
1-3 years supervisory experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $56,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
