Job Description

We're searching for an experienced home inspector to lead our Richmond team to help us build a different, better home inspection company. Different because we have built-in strategic relationships with real estate agents and other partners. Better because our customer journey makes clients happier and inspectors more efficient.

What You'll Do

  • Perform high-quality residential home inspections
  • Manage and mentor successful senior inspectors
  • Collaborate with our marketing team, including email and social campaigns
  • Lead monthly team meetings, including marketing training
  • Market to offices and agents, e.g., sales meetings, lunch and learns
  • Market our inspection services to audiences including agents and the general public
  • Distribute marketing collateral and information to potential customers
  • Help inspectors to market to offices and agents
  • Help to cultivate a culture of excellence

Performance Expectations

  • Meet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal form or communicated by management.
  • Perform responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers and business partners.
  • Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities. Take personal initiative for technical and professional development.

Follow the company HR Policy, the Code of Business Conduct and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in all activities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma or the equivalent.

Experience:

  • You have at least 3 years of experience performing home inspections

Knowledge and Skills:

  • You have previous experience leading and managing teams.
  • You are kind, honest, optimistic, respectful, non-alarmist
  • You like to meet people, work hard, and mentor your team
  • You have completed numerous high-quality home inspections

Other (licenses, certifications, schedule flexibility/OT, travel, etc.):

  • You are licensed by InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) to perform home inspections in states doing business
  • You are certified to perform Radon, Termite and Indoor Air Quality Inspections
  • You are up to date on training and professional education
  • You have a valid driver's license

Although we welcome all applicants, we are especially interested in experienced inspectors. If you haven't already completed hundreds of inspections (or more), this job probably isn't for you. You don't necessarily have to have management experience - we're good at helping you to develop leadership skills.

Wage: $28,500 annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience. Potential for formulary incentive plan, based on financial results.

Location: This position is open to remote work hiring in VA, MD or DC.
