Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Telemetry Technician will identify and notify appropriate nurse in the event of changes in cardiac rhythms, document daily interpretation of cardiac rhythms, and utilize thorough knowledge of monitor system operation to assist in proper care of patients. The telemetry tech prepares and oversees the compiling and storage of medical records. Ensures patient records are maintained on an on-going basis including proper documentation, entering labs, etc. This position also serves as the hospital liaison for incoming communications and a resources model for other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Medical Terminology experience is a must
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) preferred
- Experience of at least one year in Cardiac Monitoring preferred.
- Certification of approved arrhythmia course preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
