Tool & Die Designer - 1St Shift

Job Summary:

Research new technologies, materials, and machinery to produce creative designs for creation of new or improvement of existing machines, fixtures, tooling, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Use of Solidworks, Mastercam, or other software packages as needed to create tool and die designs and related engineering documentation
• Examine and understand specifications, product design drawings, work orders, service requirements, and past tooling designs to assure future designs meet all manufacturing expectations
• Selection of standard components to incorporate into design concepts for ease of use and continued maintenance
• Provide assistance as needed in the tool room to create CNC programs or provide guidance on design intent
• Modify tool designs according to trial or production service data to make overall process improvements
• Communicate and develop relationships with outside vendors
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge or education in the use of Solidworks or other 3D CAD design software to create assemblies and tooling/machine designs
• 5-10 years of experience as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker and/or Tool & Die design is preferred
