Position Summary:

The Training Manager is responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing onboarding and initial training programs for newly hired assembly employees. This role ensures that new team members receive comprehensive orientation, safety instruction, and foundational technical skills before transitioning to their assigned production areas. The Training Manager also provides ongoing coaching, retraining, and continuous improvement of training processes to maintain workforce readiness and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage onboarding and training programs for assembly employees.

  • Lead and facilitate classroom and hands-on training sessions, ensuring content is accurate and engaging.

  • Collaborate with HR and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver specialized training components.

  • Ensure training spaces, tools, and materials are prepared and available for each session.

  • Monitor trainee progress and conduct readiness assessments prior to deployment to production areas.

  • Provide on-the-job coaching and retraining as requested by Production Supervisors or employees.

  • Maintain accurate training records and report completion status to management.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards during training.

  • Identify skill gaps and recommend additional training or development opportunities.

  • Forecast training needs based on hiring plans and production demands.

  • Manage training resources, including budget, materials, and scheduling.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating best practices into training processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in assembly or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or training role.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to teach hands-on skills.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with HR and functional SMEs.

  • Experience in developing training programs and managing training logistics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate physical tasks.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.
